Absa Bank Bullion Van Robbed GHS638, 000 In Broad Day Light

A group of heavily armed unmasked men have robbed Absa Bank Bullion Van in the tune of GHS 638, 000 in broad day light at Maapehia in Techiman, Eastern Region.

The bullion van was on an official duty, transporting money from Techiman to Sunyani with one police officer, Lance Corporal Yussif Abubakar, Frank Agyemang (The Driver) and Sampson Kofi Sarfo.

According to MyNewsGh, at 3:30pm when the van reached Maapehia, 8 unmasked able bodied men with live rounds of ammunitions, opened fire on them which wounded the driver and policeman in the process.Advertisement

They made away with a cash of GHS 638,00 , a fully loaded AK-47 rifle with number AZ 5522, two mobile phones and body amour belonging to the police.

Victims were admitted at the Holy Family Hospital in Techiman where they have been treated and discharged by the doctors while the bullion van was towed to the police station, awaiting proper investigation into the robbery case.
